One must admit that faith is not an activity of religion, or a religious act. Faith is what one needs to survive. Without it all is gloom.

To not have faith, in a world that needs it (faith) to go on, is to become nothing. To become more of nothing in a world that already seems to be full of cosmic meaningless in the grand scheme of things. A world that seems so insignificant from the grander view of this world from space.

So yes, to have faith is to hold on to self identity and a sense of self determination. To have faith is to make meaning, and sense of your life, in a way that matters to keep on living.

To be human is to be faithful (full of faith), anything short of that — you find yourself in a den of beastliness.
