I’m of the opinion that one of the best ways—if not the best way—to become the best at anything is to gain clarity on who you are (your destiny, why you are in this world, what you came here to do and how), then attempt to reach the rest of the world from that lens through your available gifts.

For example, I can rely on my ability to become a great writer, to also be an outstanding storyteller, because for me it comes down to - refining my ability to make Ogwu and exploring my divinatory faculties to pull in stories. Basically, outside the lens of being a Dibia in-training, who is constantly working on mastering those areas of Ogwu (making medicine) and Afa (divinatory arts), I remain unsure of my ability to deliver as a writer or storyteller. I waver and become unsure once you pull me outside those walls. My future in those other areas becomes uncertain.

So this is what I mean by looking from inside out, and not the other way round. My central point within the circle might differ from others, and that’s okay. But each person’s ability to be truly great might be dependent on their ability to define or identify what their own central point is at any given stage in life, and then proceed to progress from there. Those are my thoughts on the matter.
