arrogant vs prideful
in my mind, there is a slight distinction between being arrogant and being prideful.
there is something aggressive even delusional about arrogance, while pridefulness on the other hand comes from a place of confidence. pridefulness is inspired by confidence, which means it can be a good thing. arrogance on the other hand is rooted in delusion, something false or untrue.
the foundation of arrogance is self-deceit, which means it can never be constructive. the foundation of pridefulness on the other hand is self-fulfillment, which means it can be used in the wrong context or at the wrong time but it comes from a true place, which also means it can be constructive as many times over.
